For
most visitors to Ashe County, the most alluring and
charming characteristic is its seclusion from the
high traffic tourist areas of Boone, Banner Elk and
Blowing Rock. Ashe County is outside of the hustle and
bustle, yet close enough to take a day trip to Boone and
the High Country amenities. In
the immediate areas, you can enjoy hiking, trout fishing
and good old fashion relaxing.
The New
River is a great excursion and mountain attraction
that runs directly through Ashe County.
For those wishing to play a round of golf, the area
features two absolutely gorgeous golf courses -
Mountain Aire
(a true mountain course!) and Jefferson Landing. Both
offer a truly unique round of golf.
Outdoor enthusiasts will delight in the pristine rivers
and beautiful scenery of Ashe County. Several outdoor outfitters in the
area offer guided trips, fishing and world class white
water rafting.
Ashe County also offers a wide range of shopping
experiences including the North West Trading Post and
many others.
